From The Desk Of...

I'm sitting here at work, bored off my ass. I can't stand this job much longer.

So it's all set up. We went down last night again to Karma since no one was there to help us when we went on Monday, and got the space reserved for Cindy's B-Day. I'm really looking forward to Thursday, we're going to have a lot of fun.

As of now we have a decent sized group as far as birthdays have gone in the past: Cindy, Rene, Monique, Fernando, Nadine, Armando, Sal, Chris, Vanessa, Mariel, Justin, Justin's Girfriend, and myself. More are invited and may still come. We invited Melissa, Angelito, Ken, Randy, Amanda, Joe, Jackie, Eddie and others, but no confirmation just yet.

Spoke to Mariel yesterday, she told me she pulled two kids out of a burning building on Monday night. She had been babysitting her cousins when she realized the apartment two floors down was on fire. Go Mari. She's gettin more action than I am, and I'M the Emergency Responder. LOL.

She told me what her favorite song is and it's actually an really good one and now it's playing over and over in my head. LOL.

Spoke to Diana, one of the managers at Karma, and she wants to hire me to DJ there, as long as she likes the demo I'm going to give her. She told me I can also book Consider The Source to play there as long as they do it acoustically. I'm not too sure how John is gonna play bass acoustic... but they'll figure something out.

I'll audio post later on tonight.

Yet another Birthweek...

It's officially birthweek again, and this time the lucky candidate is my very, very dear Spindee. As is with ususal Bellevue tradition, we will be celebrating her birthday for a minimum of a week, and it may even become a birthmonth, though how likely that is with Sal's birthweek right around the corner is yet unknown. Maybe it'll be a dual birthmonth. Who knows.

So I am debating what to get Cindy for her birthday. I have some ideas but not decided on any particular one just yet. She hinted that she wants a new Yankees cap. Maybe I'll do that. Dunno.

It's going to be Priscilla's bithday on tuesday too so she's going to celebrate on thursday along with Cindy. We're trying to decide on a lounge to go to thursday night, since we are definetly not going to Last Call that day. Cindy even banned the use of Spanish on her birthday. That crazy mofo.

Priscilla took us to Hunter two fridays ago and we applied there. We should be going back this week for our second interview. Later that night she came to the bar with us and got plastered. I had never seen her like that, and Joe thought it was hilarious, since Pris is already so crazy when she's sober. Sal had a blast being himself around her. The bar got raided at around 1:00 AM, so we left early. It was the funniest thing, when we made the announcement that anyone without proper ID should leave because the police was about to raid, the whole bar cleared out. I never realized how many of the people that go there were underage.

So... I finally called Mariel. Friday afternoon I was sitting in Cindy's house and I was just like... "Screw it, I'm gonna call." We made plans to go out the next night. I picked her up in Corona and headed out to the city. We went shopping for shoes and bags before we met up with René and Monique. We headed down the Patriot and had a grand old country time. The music was awesome, and the beer was cheap and good. Rene and I drank Lone Star all night while Mariel stuck with Amaretto Sours. I need to get her on something different though, cuz that drink makes me sick just smelling it. The lipgloss I chose for her at Walgreens tasted mad good though, mmmm Passion Fruit. I'm thinking about buying one and wearing it, screw it if it looks madd homo. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Sal joined us too last night. He drank his usual Guiness and kept hitting on the waitress. It was like Coyote Ugly in there, with girls grindin' on each other on top of the bar. Rene and I rocked out to some Brooks & Dunn, Hank Williams, Rascal Flatts.... oh man I want to go to Texas again. A couple of drinks later and even Mariel was bouncing along to the tunes. Then the depressing country came on and we had to bounce.

Took Mari home (well, to her cab) and made a big mistake on the way back to the train. I bought a chimi from one of the trucks on 108th Street. It tasted great going down... but I got so sick later that I wish I hadn't eaten it at all. I shoulda known not to buy from those truck vendors. They probably violate every health code in the book.

Mari's birthday falls on the same day as Sal's so were gonna have to plan something big. It's my Mom's birthday too that day. Great. Three birthdays on one day. But I gotta concentrate first on Cindy's cuz it's coming up first.

So now on to the update on my brother-in-law. We went to Immigration Court on Thursday. He lost the bond hearing, since he's not eligible for bail because of the nature of his crime. Then not only that, but it seems there's no hope for him staying because he's what they call and aggrivated felon, and he's on expidited departure. I hope my sister doesn't move all the way to Venezuela or Colombia. I really hope she tries to find out how they can move to Canada. I don't know how she'll make a living down there.... At least in Canada she can find a good job. And we can go visit them.

Well, I'm off now, this entry's gotten long enough. Here's not looking forward to another week of work at the hell-hole named Economy Handicrafts. At least I'll see Mari this weekend for Cindy's birthweek celebration. That will be a definite plus to what will already be a wickedly sick weekend.

Doc Out.
