The Past Few Days

A lot has gone on in the past few weeks.

I volunteered for the Reggae Carifest at Randall's Island. I got to see a whole other angle to EMS that day. The wonderful world of standby's.

On Wednesday, Cindy and I took a drive over to CMC to visit our old instructor Joe. It was nice seeing him again, and I'm looking forward to going back and being able to visit Amanda & the rest of the CMC crew.

While we were there, one of the other guys who work there had an allergic reaction to a fruit juice he had drank and I got to watch him get an epinephrine shot. Looks painful. The needle was big. :-/

We sat in on part of Joe's class and we got a quiz! Go figure that the one day I go I have to take a test. LOL.

It was a bit weird sitting in the seats we had occupied just about a year before. The students were all different, but it still almost felt like going into a time warp. The ambient sounds, the smells, the lighting... it all brought back memories.

When we went outside I almost expected to bump into Liz, Priscilla, Trisha and others just hanging around munching on Arby's.

Cindy and I drove over to Fern's to play some poker and kill a few beers. It was fun to just relax for a lil bit and see Tommy again.

On Thursday, I finally hung out with Ryan and we went to Van Gogh's Radio Lounge with Cindy. Hung out for a bit and then headed home.

Friday, Saltzman and I had a Taco Bell craving so we raced to Greenpoint from base and got our fix. Chilled with Cindy a bit and headed home.

The next day, Ryan had taken the day off to attend a wedding in Connecticut, so I got scheduled to ride with Kenny. It was a nice slow day, a code one and a lette. The rest of the day was spent on standby in Bay Ridge.

Afterwards, Soto, Salty and myself met at the base and hung out for a while. We went to get Cindy and got some booze and we went to Karen's crib to chill. John got two bottles of rum (one Parrots Bay and one Cruzant Banana). Cindy got stuck with Tommy's bottle of Brugal (that's a whole other story). Soto only bought this little teaser bottles cuz he was broke. I hooked him up with some Mike's Hard Lemonades. I got myself a nice bottle of Gato Negro Merlot (which I killed by myself) and a bottle of Georgi that I never even cracked open. It was nice chillin with Karen.

Today was a lazy day that I spent just tweaking my site and cleaning my room.

My family is watching Fight Club right now so I think I'm gonna go watch the rest of it with them now.

Doc Out.
