Back to Work

Well, I got called in to work at around 10:30 this morning. I had to cancel on Sal for the Met's game.

I worked with Denise today and we had a good tour. I had never actually run EMS jobs with her before... which is kind of funny since we both work for an ambulance company, are EMT's and were deployed together to Louisiana. Pretty funny.

In any case, we worked together and she's a good partner. She knows what she's doing and she has great patient skills. She'll make a fine doctor one day. Our last call dropped off in Lynbrook today, so we stopped by the house and Denise met my mom, my bro, and my two doggies.

I saw Barbie today at the base, and she gave me a big hug and told me she missed me and what not. She looked stressed, but she was smiling more than usual, so I guess it hasn't been as hectic lately for her.

Met up with Salty at the base and drove him home, and then Denise and I went for coffee at a café in Astoria. Sal and Cindy called and said they were passing through the area, so I told them to come by and say hi. We chilled for a bit and then I drove Denise home.

We talked the whole way to the heights. We have great conversations together, share many of the same interests and views on life. I think she will grow to become a great friend.

It's nice to know that I made some new friends while down south. Aside from Denise; Chris from Jersey, and John from Los Angeles have been in touch.

I checked up on Hurricane Rita just now and it's heading right for Texas now, with a possibility of turning north into Louisiana. This has been a heck of a Hurricane Season. AMR is taking names for more volunteers.... they ship out Friday. I haven't decided if I'm signing up again... but I think I may.

Saltman told me he's been hitting it off pretty well with this Jolie chick. Good for him. He deserves a good girl after all he's been though. From what he tells me... she seems like a good girl.

There aren't enough of those around anymore. And the few that remain are all taken.

Doc Out.
