November in Review

So it's been over a month now, and it's been a long month at that. Much has changed, and tomorrow... things change again.

I have to go to sleep in a few minutes (yes I know it's only 10:36 PM) because my day now starts at 0700 hours and I'm really not a morning person.

One month ago I was promoted from a field EMT to an Operations Duty officer (ODO) with a specialization in Risk & Safety. I was one of four new ODO's. Tomorrow, one of our ODO's begins her transition into the Human Resources department, and I have to fill her position until we find a replacement.

I'm not upset, I'm really happy to be in the position I'm at in the company. I just hate having to wake up so early. LOL.

I spent much of my afternoon in Manhattan in attendance at this month's REMSCO meeting. That was an interesting experience in of itself. Sitting around a table with the REMSCO Chairman and members, several doctors, representatives from several hospitals, representatives from TransCare, Midwood, Hatzolah and the Chief of EMS of the FDNY. It reminded me of the week I spent in the EOC in New Orleans, when I was working hand in hand with the Mayor of New Orleans, the Chief of the NOPD, many other city officials and several higher ups from the US Military.

Now I didn't say a word while I was there, but nonetheless I was honored to be present, representing AMR along with Mike and Denise.

I got my own office yesterday, so now Denise and I don't have to constantly fight over a computer and we can get more work done.

I'll be in Michigan from December 5th until the 8th, attending a training seminar for our new ePCR system. It still seems so weird to me when I sit back and think about these things. I still feel completely lost at times, but I'm starting to get the hang of things at work. However, tomorrow I have a whole new job description to deal with, temporary as it may be. LOL.

My birthday is next week, and I dunno where to go yet. I'm thinking about doing a get together on Saturday, because I don't want to take another day off just to go out. I took a day off last week to go Upstate for a Stigmata concert, but I never ended up going. I think I rather go out on Saturday anyway.

The crew has been hanging out alot lately, and we've brought in someone new, as usual. Her name is Jess and she's pretty fuckin cool. She came out the night we went to Melissa's performance (which was awesome by the way), and also for Nadine's B-Day.

There's more to write about but I can't think right now. I need to make an effort to write more often so that I don't have to write these ridiculously long entries.

Sleep time. G'night.
